I Almost Forgot

This cartoon from Sunday is soo close to home, it's unbelievable.

Has it been that long?

...since I thought about this blog? Wow. Life has a way of keeping you busy when you're not looking.

This weekend was mostly clear and breezy up on the catwalk. I know it's still summer but there's a hint of fall in the air. Equinox is only a few days away.

I'm starting to wonder if I'll be able to see the view from up here next year. The current manglement is tearing the program down piece by piece. It's panful to watch, and even more painful to live. This is a volunteer job; it's supposed to be fun and satisfying.

I just found out that my BP has gone up 30 points in a month. I need a vacation.

First Post

So. I'm writing in a blog. Wonder what I will do next?

I have been thinking about doing this for some time. I volunteer at Palomar Observatory on most weekends, and as part of our tours we take visitors outside onto a catwalk that's about 50 feet above the ground. The view is excellent from there. At times, I look out and sort of ponder everything from a seemingly 'lofty' perch. So I thought I'd start writing about it. Some folks have a 30,000-foot overview of things, my point of view will be from the catwalk around a magnificent observatory dome high on a mountain in the Cleveland National Forest.
